The University of Benin , has concluded a Two Day training workshop on the use of SciFinder, EndNote and MethodsNow tools for Lecturers and some select students . The workshop which took place at the Centre of Distance Learning , brought together participants from the various Faculties of the University of Benin, was organized as part of the commitment of the University Administration to improving the quality of the teaching and research among staff and students. Lectures and training on the Endnote was carried out by a team of experts which included Dr Vincent Imieje(Pharmacy), Dr Enitome Bafor(Pharmacy) and Dr Justina Ukpebor(Chemistry) . They were assisted by Chijioke Mokogwu(ICTU/CRPU) , Jotham Edoreh(ICTU/CRPU), Solomon Ogiobadan(ICTU/CRPU) , David Ofili (UniBen Library) and a small team ICT interns. David Ofili also gave a brief talk on the use of various ICT resources such as HINARI , EBSCOHOST and OARE. The DVC Academics Prof Abiodun Falodun ,who was present at the event, thanked participants for coming and enjoined them to take full advantage of various aspects of training. While also encouraging on the need to get their institutional emails as the use of most of this resource where tied to ownership of an institutional mail and having an institutional mail is a part of best practice worldwide . The event was also graced by the Dean of Basic Medical Sciences , Prof Hetty Oboh, the Dean of Management Sciences Prof P Eriki, the Direct Centre For Forensic Research Prof Eddy Ehikhamenor and the Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences Dr Rawlings Igbinowahia.The National Centre of Environment and Energy where also present at the event.
