Dr. Etinosa Igbinosa (Senior Lecturer) of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences was recently awarded the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) individual research grant (USD 17, 730) and the International Foundation for Science IFS research grant USD 10,000 to execute some research projects in the University of Benin. Research equipment and materials have been procured and the projects in progress.
Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) Program with researchers and contacts at Nigerian universities who might be seeking funding for scientific research.
This is especially relevant to researchers in the area of health implementation science with a focus on tuberculosis, maternal and child health, or reproductive health. Academic staff in Life Sciences, Biomedical and Medical Sciences are kindly encouraged to apply for the 2016 Royal Society Pfizer Award.
This Award recognizes research scientists based in Africa who are making an innovative contribution to the biological sciences, including basic medical science, which contributes significantly to capacity building in Africa.
The recipient will receive a research grant of £11,000 and a personal prize of £1,000.

Postdoctoral researchers are kindly encouraged to apply for the
TWAS-DFG Fellowship programme to undertake advanced academic research in Germany for a duration of three months.
Submission deadline: 31st March, 2016.
DFG-TWAS will be responsible for the flight ticket to and fro, monthly stipends of 2,350 Euro, research fees, health Insurance etc.
