The event which was held on the 16th of August, 2018 had in attendance the DVC Academics who represented the VC, the Register, the Liberian, the Centre leader Prof. Friday Okonofua, Some dean of faculties, Director of ICT, Dean of Post-graduate studies, Former VC University of Ibadan; Prof Olufemi Adebisi Bamiro, staffs, students and invited guests.
The event kicked off with the introduction of guests at the high table followed by the National, School anthem and the opening prayers. Thereafter the Centre leader gave a brief description/history of what the program entails and its achievements. The rep of the VC then gave his Remark on the event. The Dean of Post-graduate studies Prof. Izekor took the citation of the keynote speaker Prof. Olufemi Adebisi Bamiro who in turn gave his lecture which he titled “Impact of Tertiary Education on National Development”.
He noted that the skills learnt in schools should be used to provide jobs and end unemployment. He also made known that there are no longer lecturers but facilitators and mentioned that the government must be fully involved to move the university forward. He also chipped in that not one discipline can solve any developmental problem. An award was later presented to the VC, the Register, the Liberian and the dean post-graduate studies. The event ended with the Chairman giving the vote of thanks.
