UNIBEN MOBILISES GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP ON DNA AND FORENSIC ANALYSES

As part of efforts to building global partnership geared towards increasing visibility and advancement of Research and Development in the University of Benin, the Vice Chancellor, University of Benin, Prof. Osasere Orumwense, FNSE recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Centre for Forensic Research and Education, Philadephia, U.S.A, Paleo DNA Centre and Lakehead University, Ontario, Canada.

The Vice Chancellor, accompanied by other principal officers of the University to the United States of America and Canada reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring world class standard of learning and training of staff and students of the University of Benin.

Recently, the University of Benin commenced a Post-graduate Diploma (PGD) Programme in Forensic and DNA Analysis. The Centre for Forensic Programmes and DNA Studies, University of Benin undertakes Post-Graduate Diploma in Forensic and DNA Analyses (PGD Forensic) as well as other trainings such specialized short certificate courses in areas of DNA analysis and Forensic Science.  The centre also provides services in DNA Technology and Forensic specialties for other Departments within the University and other Service/Research Institutions of Higher learning in the country.
