Two boreholes, with one thousand litres capacity overhead tanks each, have been donated to the University of Benin by the Lagos branch of the Alumni Association.
The boreholes are sited in Hall 1( female hostel) and Hall 4( Male hostel) The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lilian Salami, who commissioned the projects, expressed joy that the Institution’s Alumni have continued to show commitment in the affairs of their alma mater. She urged them not to relent as the present Management was determined to make a lot of tangible difference in the development of the University.

Before the official commissioning, the President, University of Benin Alumni Association (Worldwide), Engr. Ikenna Obiasor commended the Vice Chancellor and her team for the visible progress recorded so far . The President, Worldwide, announced that the Alumni body would be undertaking co-ordinated projects that will be donated to the University from the different branches and the national body at various times.

The Lagos Branch Chairman, Pharmacist Stephen Onojemete intimated Madam VC of the resolution of the Lagos Branch of the alumni to continuously support the Institution. The ceremony was witnessed by Past Presidents of the Alumni Association and other members who are in Benin for the 99th Council Meeting of the Association.
