A Federal Ministry of Education team has been to the University of Benin to carry out assessment of the University’s compliance with the Federal government’s white paper on the report of the 2023 Visitation Panel to the University.
The team, led by the Deputy Director, University Education Department, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Charles Owolabi, was received by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, in the company of other Principal Officers, the Provosts, Deans, Directors and executives of the Unions.
The verification exercise involved assessment of infrastructure and other performance indicators as specified by the Presidential white paper, following the report of the Visitation Panel led by Ms Ama Pepple.
At the end of the two- day exercise, the team was
satisfied with the University’s level of compliance and commended the Vice Chancellor for devoting time to brief and interact with the delegation despite his busy schedule.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, thanked the team for their painstaking efforts in discharging their assignment. He expressed his commitment to ensuring that the University lives up to expectations adding that as a Senior Advocate, compliance with laid down laws and policies is a giving as far as his administration is concerned .
Leaders of the Unions present expressed satisfaction with the Vice Chancellor’s submissions and the turn of events. They pledged their continuing support to the Management for development of the Institution.
The team has since returned to Abuja.
