The Sustainable Procurement, Environmental, and Social Standards Enhancement Centre of Excellence (SPESSECE) at the University of Benin has organized a reflective and participatory workshop titled “Strategic Leadership in Action: Mastering World Bank Project Dynamics and Sustainable Procurement, Environmental, and Social Standards Enhancement (SPESSE) Imperatives.” This workshop, currently ongoing at the Wells Carlton Hotels & Apartments in Abuja from May 17 to May 21, 2025, is designed to equip Directors, Centre Leaders, Deans, Heads of Units, and practitioners involved in TETFund and donor-funded projects at the University of Benin with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of World Bank-funded initiatives. Participants are engaging in discussions on strategic leadership principles, delving into project management dynamics, procurement processes, and the integration of sustainable environmental and social standards. Through interactive sessions, case studies, and expert insights, they are being trained to lead projects that align with global sustainability goals and meet the World Bank’s requirements. The workshop is significantly enhancing participants’ leadership capabilities, contributing to the promotion of sustainable development practices
