The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has organized a sensitization and orientation programme for students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) to educate them about the Federal Government’s student loan scheme and how to benefit from it.
The orientation workshop, themed “Understanding the NELFUND Students’ Loan Scheme: Eligibility, Challenges, and Prospects,” aims to enlighten students on the procedures for accessing the loan, eligibility requirements, and the benefits of the programme.
To ensure full participation of students in the programme, the management of the University of Benin approved a temporary suspension of lectures from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the day of the event. This measure was taken to enable students across faculties to attend the sensitization workshop.
The event includes: Detailed explanation of the NELFUND student loan scheme, guidance on how to apply through the online portal and Information on loan disbursement and repayment conditions.
