Despite the current economic hardship, the University of Benin under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Lilian Salami, currently enjoys enormous goodwill resulting  in various projects undertaken, directly  by the Federal and State Governments, Agencies, Companies and Individuals.
The projects include:
●Students’ Affairs Building and ICT edifice donated by Abdul Samad Rabiu initiative for Africa.
●Office Complex by NNPC Exploration and production Ltd.
●Optometry Building and three new Hostels by TETFUND.
●Senator Daisy Danjuma Hostel for Girls donated by T.Y Danjuma Foundation,
●Another students’ Hostel by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC.
●Centre of Excellence in Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering Legacy edifice  built by Shell Petroleum Development Company.
These projects are at various stages of completion while several TETFUND Intervention projects such as the ●Professorial Office Building ●Lecture Theatres in Ugbowo and Ekehuan campuses as well as the ●Urology Building have since been completed and commissioned in the present dispensation.
Encouraged by the  commitment of professor Lilian Salami to bequeath a legacy of world class projects and the on- going beautification of the University campuses, the Edo State Government, led by Governor Godwin Obaseki, has been rehabilitating the intra-campus roads as part of the State Government’s free-will contribution to the Uniben success story.
More free-will projects are expectedly  in the offing
