The University of Benin intends to offer a short-term training course on GEOSPATIAL INFORMATION SYSTEM, AI, MACHINE/DEEP LEARNING IN WATER

RESOURCES MANAGEMENT in the framework of the Human Capacity Development component of ACEWATER III project.

This project is implemented by 20 African institutions including the University of Benin in the AUDA-NEPAD Networks of Water Centres of Excellence supported by the European Union.

This intensive short course aims to build the capacity of researchers, postgraduate students, professionals, and industry practitioners in the water and environmental sector by equipping them with hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge in applying GIS and AI tools to tackle contemporary water resources and environmental management challenges.

Training Dates: November 10 – 18, 2025. Course Fee: Free Mode of Delivery: In person (Face-to -face)
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Professionals from water agencies, river basin authorities, Ministry of Environment and other environmental protection agencies.
Practitioners from consultancy firms and NGOs engaged in water and environmental management.
Policy makers and technical staff from ministries and regulatory institutions.
Postgraduate students (MSc/PhD) in water resources, environmental Sciences, civil engineering, geoinformatics, or related fields.

Academic researchers working in hydrology, water quality, climate change, and related areas.
