A workstation to enhance teaching and learning in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Benin, has been donated by the Alumni Body of the Department.
Also, the Alumni class of 2003 has installed solar power system in the Econometric Laboratory while the class of 1998 did the same for the Departmental offices.
The Ag. Head of Department, Dr. N.I Arodoye, who communicated the gestures to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, stated that the donations were a demonstration of the commitment of the Alumni to the progress of the Department.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the donors for the facilities expected to make meaningful impact in the Department of Economics. He described the Alumni as partners in progress and used the opportunity to thank other Alumni who have devoted their time, energies and resources to improving the fortunes of the University. Professor Omoregie called on others to support the institution in the drive to improve infrastructure and enhance academic output.
