The Edo State Mental Health Research Report and Policy draft were formally presented to the Permanent Secretary, Office of The Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Elizabeth Enakhimion.

This significant milestone marks a major step forward in addressing mental health issues within the state.

The report and policy draft were compiled by the Inosezilo Family Foundation in collaboration with Centre for Gender Studies, University of Benin and 13 other organizations.

Mr. Abraham Inosezilo Obode, leader of the delegation, presented the documents to Mrs. Enakhimion.

Mrs. Enakhimion welcomed the delegation and expressed enthusiasm for the project. She praised the initiative, stating that it is very apt and laudable.

The Permanent Secretary assured the delegation of the state government’s commitment to improving the lives of all Edo citizens and promised to forward the report to the relevant authorities for necessary action.

Notable attendees at the presentation included Mr. Olumide Dosumu, State Coordinator of the Nigeria Human Rights Commission; Ehisumwen Eriamiantoe, representing the Centre for Gender Studies, University of Benin; Victoria Omo-Ero, Executive Director of the Society for the Empowerment of Young Persons; and a staff member of the Nigeria Human Rights Commission.
