A professor of biochemistry, University of Benin, Professor Ehimwenma Sheena Omoregie, has been elected President of the Society for Experimental Biology of Nigeria (NISEB).

Professor Omoregie emerged after a keenly contested election which held at the Southern Delta University, Ozoro, Delta State.

Chairman of the Election Committee, Professor Olalekan Adeyemi, stated that the Committee carried out their assignment with utmost diligence and expressed confidence in the ability of Professor Omoregie and other elected officers to successfully lead the Society.

Professor Ehimwenma Omoregie has been involved in researches on therapeutic properties of indigenous medicinal plants and their use in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and other ailments associated with protein energy malnutrition.

She has held several positions in the University of Benin; She was appointed Chairman, Post-UTME Committee in 2020 and is Director, TetFund Projects and World Bank-NUC Centres of Excellence.
