The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Edoba B. Omoregie, SAN, recently held an interactive session with the managers of various banks operating within the university Ugbowo campus. Present at the meeting were representatives from Zenith Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, Access Bank, First Bank, Fidelity Bank, Wema Bank, Unity Bank, Uniben Microfinance Bank, and Keystone Bank.
The vice chancellor opened the session by addressing key issues related to electricity supply and security within the campus. He emphasized the university’s commitment to ensuring a safe and conducive environment for both students and business operators.
In addition to operational concerns, the Vice Chancellor spoke about the overall ambiance of the campus, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve the physical and social atmosphere of the university environment. He called on the banks to play a more active role in supporting the university through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration between the university and financial institutions in promoting development, security, and community well-being on campus.
