The University of Benin has been selected for collaboration with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in the area of optimisation of the commercialisation of raw materials and inputs for manufacturing industries.

To achieve the objective and ensure seamless process, a Commercialisation Desk on raw materials value chain is to be established in the university.

The collaboration is expected to facilitate research and development on raw materials value chain for the country’s manufacturing industries, commercialisation of research results on raw materials value chain for Nigerian universities and the enhancement of academia/ industry synergy.

Other goals are to source grants from development partners, international organisations and other relevant stakeholders as well as the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation.

The selection of the University of Benin is the result of the engagements of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, with relevant stakeholders as part of actualising his 5-point agenda.
