The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Lilian Salami, has hailed the appointment of an alumnus of the University, Professor Peter Ndidi Ebeigbe, as the 23rd President of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

Professor Ebeigbe, who graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Benin in 1994, is the first alumnus to occupy the exalted seat in the over 50- year history of the Postgraduate College.

The Vice Chancellor extolled Professor Ebeigbe for his unique qualities of hardwork, tenacity, excellency of spirit and diligence which have propelled him to shine and to bring honours to his alma mater.

Professor Salami wishes the 23rd President of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College, whose investiture holds on first March this year in Lagos, robust health and strength to excel in his latest assignment.

Peter Ebeigbe is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Delta State University, Abraka in Delta.

He is also a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.
